MEMORY CARD HOLDER

€280.00

Created in collaboration with La Perruque, a Parisian leather atelier, the Memory Card Holder pays tribute to the souvenir wallets brought back by American soldiers during the Korean War.

Crafted in full-grain Baranil calfskin from Degermann tannery, it combines durability with refinement and a distinctive hand feel.

Each piece is hand-painted by a Paris-based artist, depicting a tiger framed by French and Japanese flags, referencing mid-century military and popular iconography.

Handmade in La Perruque’s Paris workshop, it features saddle stitching, hand-painted edges and meticulous finishing.

Designed to hold up to ten cards while maintaining a slim profile, it balances practicality and elegance.

More than an accessory, the Memory Card Holder embodies the meeting point between French craftsmanship and historical narrative.

Context

During the Korean War, American soldiers purchased small souvenir objects in ports across Japan and Europe.

Hand-painted card holders were among these intimate keepsakes, often decorated with tigers, flags and symbolic imagery.

The Memory Card Holder revives this tradition, transforming a daily essential into a portable fragment of memory.
