LUTECE PLAGE SHIRT
€250.00
Printed and crafted in France, the Lutèce Plage Shirt is made from fluid rayon twill, selected for its soft hand and natural drape.
Its composition originates from a singular archive: a U.S. Navy sailor jacket, hand painted between 1910 and 1920. From this intimate artifact, EASTWOOD STUDIO develops a contemporary fresco where Parisian monuments, female portraits, Hawaiian flowers and the Japanese Seigaiha motif interact in a dense yet balanced composition.
Cut in a relaxed silhouette with a reworked collar, the shirt revisits the traditional summer garment through a Parisian lens shaped by travel and memory.
Context
The Hawaiian shirt emerged in the 1930s in Hawaii, born from the meeting of imported Asian textiles, local floral motifs and artisanal printing techniques.
Adopted by tourists and American servicemen alike, it became both a tangible souvenir and a symbol of escapism.
The Lutèce Plage Shirt continues this legacy of cultural cross pollination through a contemporary and Parisian interpretation.
